Make plans to attend the KAHPERD Winter Workshop on January 24, 2020 hosted by Baker University!

Enter the new decade with an exciting professional development opportunity. Participants will be able to attend sessions of their choice with a final session for all titled Empathy and Inclusion: Social Emotional Learning for All.

Participants will have an opportunity to engage in hands-on learning via an "activity" hyperdoc on the topic of "Empathy and Inclusion" that is sure to resonate deeply.

Attendees will experience various disabilities through active learning. Take this Hyperdoc back to your district for classroom use or Staff Professional Development. Teachers will, also, learn what a Hyperdoc is and receive a library of Hyperdoc resources for Health and Physical Education.

The workshop will feature:

Mark and Becky Foellmer (Illinois) presenting Tech It Up! They will offer a gold mine of projector resources, GIFS, templates, websites and extensions which can be utilized to improve student learning in your gym and/or classroom. Come see the newest ways to put technology to work with any device in your Physical Education and Health classrooms. The resources we`ll be sharing are free, come from Quality Physical Educators from all over the world and the majority can be modified to meet your students` needs.

Todd Junker and Candace Stuchlik (Wichita, Kansas) sharing Radical PE! Fitness. Instant activities. Mitts. Kick pads. Heavy bag. Boards. Helmets. Ride. Just some words you will hear in our high energy session! We will slam our time with as many new ideas as possible on these things and more. We will show you how we connected our passions to our PE program! We teach at a K-8 building so you will see activities for a wide age range. We all have our "go-to" activities, maybe we can add a few tools to that tool belt!

Shelly Swartz (Leavenworth, Kansas) focusing on Sensory Motor Education and Screening. In this session you will learn just how easy it is to incorporate sensory motor screening and neurobiological education into your Physical Education curriculum!  You will also see why this is such a wonderful opportunity for our profession to lead the way in the on-going evolution of education in our state!
