Eligibility requirements and award criteria are correlated with those of SHAPE America.

• All applicants must be current members of KAHPERD
  • unless otherwise stipulated
  • the number of years required for eligibility vary by award
• Individuals currently serving as members of the KAHPERD Awards committee, the SHAPE America’s Board of Directors, SHAPE America’s District Leadership Councils and former SHAPE America Teachers of the Year are ineligible to be considered as candidates for corresponding awards through the KAHPERD organization.
• Retired teachers are ineligible to be considered for a Teacher of the Year award.  
• Posthumous nominations may be made no later than 5 years after the death of the nominee.
• Individuals may not receive the same award more than once

Complete and submit the nomination form by the following deadlines below. Questions regarding any aspect of the nomination and application process should be directed to the Awards Chair ( kahperdaward@gmail.com ).

• April 15th - Administrator of the Year Awards, Professional Awards, University/College Awards
• October 1st – Appreciation Awards (includes a $20.00 fee submitted by October 15th)

Nominating members are encouraged to assist nominees with the application process.

Completing the Application Process (following acknowledgement of nomination):

• All application documents are to be completed and submitted by the applicant.
• Collect/complete all the required materials and submit them to the Awards Chair (via the application form) for consideration. 
• For assistance in completing the application refer to the rubric used to score all awards.
• All applications are scored anonymously in a blind review.
• All KAHPERD Awards are presented at the annual KAHPERD Convention.

Application Deadlines:

• June 15^th – Professional Awards, Administrator of the Year Awards, and University/College Awards
